What
is CHAMPVA?
CHAMPVA is a health benefit program provided by the
Department of Veterans Affairs for the spouse,
widow(er) and children of a veteran who is:
• 100% permanently and totally disabled
because of a service-connected disability, or • Died as
a result of a service-connected disability or who at
the time of death was rated permanently and totally
disabled, or • Died while on active duty status and in
the line of duty, not due to misconduct, or • Eligible
dependent children must be under the age of 18 or 23 if
a full-time student
