Who is Eligible for Enrollment in the TRICARE
Supplement Plans
Are you a:
Military retiree under age 65 entitled to retired,
retainer or equivalent pay and using TRICARE
Standard?
You, your spouse under age 65, and eligible unmarried
dependent children under age 21 (or 23, if a fulltime
student), are eligible to enroll in the TRICARE
Standard/Extra High Option II Supplement Plan.
Military retiree under age 65 entitled to retired,
retainer or equivalent pay and using TRICARE
Prime? You,
your spouse (under age 65), and eligible unmarried
dependent children under age 21 (or 23 if a fulltime
student) are eligible to enroll in the TRICARE Prime
Supplement Plan, Plan A or B.
Coverage will be extended to you and your spouse under
65 or older, if you:
• Reside
outside the United States or its territories and are
eligible for Medicare Part A and enrolled in Medicare
Part B.
• Are ineligible for Medicare and received a Statement
of Disallowance from Social Security
Administration.
TRICARE will continue as your
primary health benefit option and the TRICARE
Supplement Plan secondary.
Qualified
retired Reserve member under age 60 and enrolled in
TRICARE Retired Reserve? You, your spouse and eligible
unmarried dependent children under age 21 (or 23 if a
fulltime student) are eligible to enroll in the TRICARE
Standard/Extra High Option II Supplement Plan.
Spouse
of an Active Duty service member using TRICARE
Standard?
You and your eligible unmarried dependent children
under age 21 (or 23 if a fulltime student) are eligible
to enroll in the TRICARE Standard Active Duty
Supplement Plan.
Note: You and your family members must be registered in
the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System
(DEERS) and eligible for TRICARE.
